1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a #noSoloNet account. By registering or using the Service, you represent that you meet this minimum-age requirement. We may restrict or terminate an account when we reasonably believe the member is under 18 or supplied an inaccurate birthday.
2. Accounts and Account Security
You agree to provide accurate information, maintain only accounts you are authorized to use, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity occurring through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity or affiliation, create accounts to evade enforcement, sell or transfer an account without permission, or use another member’s account without authorization.
3. What #noSoloNet Provides
The Service provides tools that may allow members to create or discover activity listings, communicate, invite or join other members, record attendance, leave eligible reviews, and use safety, reporting, blocking, discovery, notification, and account-management features.
Unless specifically identified as a #noSoloNet-operated activity, listings and meetups are created or organized by members or third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for their conduct, qualifications, statements, availability, venues, equipment, transportation, or performance.
4. Member Conduct
You must use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You may not use it to harass, threaten, stalk, exploit, defraud, discriminate against, intimidate, or harm another person; publish unlawful or intentionally deceptive content; spam members; distribute malware; interfere with the Service; scrape or harvest data without authorization; circumvent security or access controls; or facilitate illegal activity.
You may not use #noSoloNet to solicit sexual services, traffic or exploit people, facilitate non-consensual conduct, or target minors. You must respect another member’s boundaries and decision to decline, leave, block, or stop communicating.
5. Activities, Hosts, and In-Person Meetups
Participation in an activity is voluntary. Members are responsible for deciding whether an activity, host, participant, location, equipment, skill level, physical demand, travel arrangement, or other circumstance is appropriate for them.
Hosts are responsible for accurately describing their activities and material requirements. Participants are responsible for following applicable laws, venue rules, reasonable host instructions, and safety requirements. Do not claim certifications, training, insurance, permissions, or qualifications you do not possess.
When a host selects Public visibility, the activity may be displayed to logged-out visitors and included in search-engine metadata and the public sitemap. Public pages may include the activity title, description, general location text, schedule, category, age range, capacity, aggregate attendance count, and a limited host label. Hosts must not publish home addresses, private contact details, exact private locations, or another person’s confidential information. Other visibility settings are not intended for public indexing.
Hosts may set a truthful minimum and/or maximum participant age when it is relevant to safety, supervision, venue rules, legal requirements, or the intended group. #noSoloNet uses the member’s private birthday to hide activities outside that range. Hosts must not use age settings deceptively or to evade safety rules.
Some activities—including martial arts, sports, hiking, fitness, travel, and outdoor recreation—carry inherent risks of injury, property loss, or other harm. #noSoloNet does not eliminate those risks merely by providing a platform through which members connect.
Assumption of Risk for Meetings and Activities
YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT INTERACTING WITH, COMMUNICATING WITH, TRAVELING WITH, MEETING, OR PARTICIPATING IN AN ACTIVITY WITH ANY PERSON FOUND, INTRODUCED, CONTACTED, INVITED, OR OTHERWISE CONNECTED THROUGH #NOSOLONET IS VOLUNTARY AND UNDERTAKEN AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, #NOSOLONET IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR BAD, NEGATIVE, UNEXPECTED, UNSAFE, OR OTHERWISE UNDESIRABLE OUTCOMES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO SUCH INTERACTIONS, MEETINGS, OR ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, HARASSMENT, ASSAULT, THEFT, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS, FINANCIAL LOSS, TRANSPORTATION INCIDENTS, ACCIDENTS, DISPUTES, MISCONDUCT, CRIMINAL ACTS, OR OTHER HARM CAUSED BY OR INVOLVING MEMBERS, HOSTS, PARTICIPANTS, VENUES, THIRD PARTIES, CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT, OR THE ACTIVITY ITSELF.
#noSoloNet does not supervise member interactions or member-organized activities and does not guarantee the identity, character, intentions, conduct, qualifications, fitness, safety, reliability, statements, or actions of any member or third party. You are responsible for evaluating people and activities, taking reasonable precautions, complying with applicable rules and laws, and deciding whether to meet, participate, remain, or leave.
Nothing in this section waives or limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be waived or limited under applicable law.
6. Member Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, such as profile information, activity listings, comments, messages where applicable, reviews, and uploaded media (“Member Content”). You grant #noSoloNet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, and otherwise use Member Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except where retention is reasonably required for backups, legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your Member Content and that our permitted use of it will not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.
Automated filters may analyze text before it is posted or sent and may reject material that appears to contain sexual solicitation or explicit content, exploitation, profanity, threats, bullying, hate, dangerous or illegal solicitation, scams, or spam. Existing content may be rescanned and quarantined for administrator review. Filters can make mistakes and do not guarantee that every harmful item will be detected. Members must continue to use blocking and reporting tools when needed.
7. Safety and Trust Signals
Safety features, reviews, attendance records, mutual connections, moderation tools, and other trust signals provide context but are not guarantees. #noSoloNet does not endorse members, perform comprehensive background checks, or guarantee that information supplied by a member is accurate.
Use your own judgment when interacting or meeting. Consider public meeting locations, tell someone you trust where you are going, protect sensitive personal information, arrange your own transportation when appropriate, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
8. Reports, Blocking, and Moderation
We may investigate reports and take actions we reasonably consider appropriate, including removing content, restricting features, suspending or terminating accounts, preserving relevant records, or referring matters to appropriate authorities when legally permitted or required. We are not obligated to disclose confidential moderation methods, reporter identities, security information, or every reason underlying an enforcement decision.
Do not knowingly submit false or abusive reports or misuse moderation systems to harass another member.
9. Privacy
We collect and use account, profile, activity, communication, device, and service-usage information as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support #noSoloNet. We may disclose information to service providers that help run the Service, when you direct us to share it, to protect members or the Service, or when the law requires it.
We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for considering what you choose to make public or share with other members. Available account privacy controls can be managed in Settings.
10. #noSoloNet Intellectual Property
The Service, excluding Member Content, including its software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, interfaces, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to #noSoloNet and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you.
11. Third-Party Services and Locations
The Service may reference third-party websites, businesses, venues, maps, services, or resources. #noSoloNet does not control third parties and is not responsible for their availability, content, policies, products, services, security, or conduct. Your dealings with a third party are between you and that third party.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” #NOSOLONET DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE, OR THAT ANY MEMBER, LISTING, REVIEW, ACTIVITY, OR THIRD PARTY WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES A WARRANTY OR RIGHT THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, #NOSOLONET AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO #NOSOLONET FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$100.
These limitations do not apply where applicable law prohibits them, including liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless #noSoloNet and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your Member Content, your activities or meetups, or your material violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.
15. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time and may use available account-deletion tools. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect members or the Service, enforce these Terms, comply with law, address fraud or security risks, or respond to serious or repeated violations.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual-property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute provisions, and accrued obligations—will survive.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that applicable federal law or a non-waivable consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, you and #noSoloNet agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by written notice describing the issue and requested resolution.
Unless applicable law requires or permits a different forum that cannot validly be waived, you and #noSoloNet agree that any judicial proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Madison County, Illinois, or, where federal subject-matter jurisdiction exists, the appropriate United States District Court having jurisdiction over Madison County, Illinois. You and #noSoloNet consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking appropriate temporary or injunctive relief for intellectual-property misuse, account compromise, fraud, security threats, or imminent harm.
17. Changes to the Service or These Terms
We may modify the Service and these Terms as #noSoloNet evolves. If a change to these Terms is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by another appropriate method before the change takes effect when required by law. Continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. General Terms
These Terms and policies expressly incorporated into them constitute the agreement between you and #noSoloNet concerning the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent; #noSoloNet may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset transfer, or by operation of law.
Headings are for convenience only. Words such as “including” mean “including without limitation.” Electronic communications and records may satisfy legal writing requirements to the extent permitted by law.
